This website aims to provide you and all our visitors with all the information you will need to fully explore the unspoilt natural beauty in and around these two historic villages on the Oxfordshire and Berkshire border. If you want to get away from it all for a day or two and you love being by the river, walking, cycling, golfing, visiting country houses and gardens or simply enjoying peace and quiet, then this is the destination for you.
Goring, being the larger of our two villages, with a High Street with all the essential shops and facilities, was awarded Royal Horticultural Society Best Small Town in the UK in 2019.
At the annual RHS awards ceremony of the Thames & Chilterns Region in September 2025, Goring won its 10th consecutive Gold Award in the ‘Small Town’ category, a National Outstanding Award for Community Engagement along with the Best in Category trophy and is currently a UK finalist again in the 2026 National Bloom competition.
